The possible applications of nanotechnology are roughly categorized into three main topics:
Military Applications
Since nanotechnology was introduced, militaries around the globe have planned to use this to ther advantage. The overuse of nanotechnology in current military weapons and such can have major impacts on global security.
One of the many possible uses of nanotechnology in military is the MAV (Micro Air Vehicles)you.
Another is the use of nanotech fibers that bend light to make the wearer near invisible, know as hyperstealth technology.u.
Military designers hope to use nanotechnology to make armor for vehicles much stronger, enhanced computer systems that are so vital in the digital age. Also, weapons manufacturers plan to make much stronger, yet smaller bullets, and increased durability to the frame (Citation 1)..
Solar Cells
With nanotechnology, engineers hope to make a transparent solar cell that can be used on household windows. Since they use graphene instead of silicon, these cells are much for durable and electrons move much faster through it (Citation 2). This technology can be used for computer monitors, and phone screens.
Cancer Treatment
For many with cancer, the answer lies with radiotherapy. Yet radiotherapy has limitations, which is why scientists are theorizing that nanotechnology may be the solution. By using nanoparticles to amplify the X-rays that damage cancer cells, doctors are given a way to combat almost all forms of cancer without harming the patient with radiotherapy (Citation 3).
